Chile 2022 – 2023 — Elisabeth Heying

I lived and worked in Santiago, Chile from 2022 to 2023. I collected and processed local stones, minerals, clays, and soils to create an archive of 30 earth pigments. Using the resulting pigments and materials, I created a body of paintings exploring the Chilean landscape and reimagining the connections between pigment and place, between creation and formation.
